COVID-19 and Gender Digital Scrapbook Submission Form

Newcomb Archives invites Tulane students, staff, faculty, alums, and members of the New Orleans community to contribute to a collective digital "scrapbook" documenting our lives through creativity during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on gender.

Disease outbreaks make existing inequalities worse for marginalized groups. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, including mandatory quarantine and stay-at-home orders, will be felt differently by those who identify as women, trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming. In the tradition of eclectic memory-keeping projects such as scrapbooking, journaling, and zine-making, we invite contributions of original artwork, ephemera, photographs, zines, personal essays, poems, or other types of submissions created during this time. All submissions must be digital.* We are especially interested in hearing from women, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and LGBQ individuals. Anonymous submissions are welcome. Submissions will be preserved in the Newcomb Archives’ digital repository.** We will share submissions as they are collected via social media with the hashtag #covidegenderscrapbookfor the purpose of connecting people to a digital community for creativity and reflection
