About the Peer Mentors Program
The Peer Mentor Program is a student-led, peer-advisor program that provides support for interested first-year and transfer students at Tulane University during the fall semester. Mentors are upper-class students assigned to assist first-year students’ transition
to college. The commitment is one semester. The program stimulates discussion of issues that affect people of all backgrounds, cultivates student leadership, builds a stronger, more diverse community, and encourages students to participate fully in the campus
Peer Mentees will:
Be contacted bi-weekly by assigned mentor
Learn about opportunities to become acclimated to the campus and New Orleans area, as well as to develop your personal, academic, social and cultural experiences through programming and guidance.
Engage a series of workshops and activities during the year to nurture relationships with mentors and get access to specific and valuable information about campus life.
Participate in the annual Peer Mentor Program Matching Ceremony
Get to know other first year students who are participating in the program
