Summer 2024 Newcomb Student Internship Grants

Page 1

Summer Internship Grants are available for students who are pursuing unpaid or minimally-paid internships in summer 2024 that have a significant gender equity focus. Students must address how their internship contributes to the Newcomb Institute’s mission of advancing gender equity. Students may request funding to assist with summer living expenses, internship travel, or other associated expenses. Students with a full-time internship (40 hours a week for 6 weeks) may request up to $3,600. Students with a part-time internship (20 hour a week for 6 weeks) may request up to $1,800. For students with internships shorter or longer than 6 weeks should calculate a budget that does not exceed $15 an hour for the time of their internship.

Who Can Apply:
Full-time, undergraduate Tulane University students are eligible to apply for funding from the Newcomb Institute. Students graduating in May 2024 may not apply for funding for internships completed after they have graduated

Students may apply for a grant once they have applied for an internship, even if they have not been accepted at an internship site. We understand the timeline of acceptance for internship sites may vary from our internship application deadline. However, students must have accepted an internship offer prior to the disbursement of grant funds if one is awarded.

Summer internship funding applications will be accepted for two rounds of consideration, with due dates on April 15, 2024, and May 15, 2024.
